PHASE ONE: Child Care Symposium.
CHILD CARE SOLUTIONS FOR WORKING PARENTS
A Call for Private and Public Sector Leadership
This symposium was held on 26th May 2008 at the Hyatt
Regency Hotel in Port of Spain, and was attended by more than 100
individuals from across industries and professions. The goal of the
Symposium was to highlight the benefits of establishing child care and
homework centres in the workplace as well as exploring other child care

PHASE TWO: White Paper
The Association is presently in this
phase of the project, and are working to create a White Paper on Child
Care solutions in Trinidad and Tobago to include regional and global
comparisons, as well as recommendations for action. The paper will be
submitted to the Government by June 2010, with the objectives of
influencing legislative change and securing funding for a national
research study. The Association has tentatively carded a Stakeholder meeting for January 2010, to discuss the draft White Paper and solicit feedback / suggestions on how it can be improved,
PHASE THREE: National Research Study
This analysis of the status of child
care in the country will include an evaluation of private and state
child care facilities, standards and training, corporate awareness and
appreciation of the issue, etc.
