“Suit Me Up” is the signature event of
the Association of Female Executives of Trinidad & Tobago (AFETT). This is a sale of ‘nearly new’
business clothing targeted at young women entering the world of work and those
women re-entering the work world, and sold at affordable prices. We understand how expensive it can be to
acquire adequate professional clothing for the business environment. AFETT’s
aim therefore, is to equip women with business attire that is both professional
and affordable.
Our first event was held in October
2000 and has grown steadily each year.
The Association donates part proceeds
from the event to charitable organizations. In the past these have included, The
Shelter for Battered Women and the St. Jude’s Home for Girls. Funds raised have also assisted in the
development of projects such as“From Classroom to Boardroom” and the
AFETT Career Book.
This year the proceeds will be
allocated to our Young Women’s Mentorship Programme.
A major ‘Clothing Collection Drive’ was
launched to the public three months prior to the event. We urged women to clear out their closets and
help another young woman make a difference.

2008 - Child Care Solutions for Working Parents
A Call for Private and Public Sector Leadership.
None can deny that working parents in Trinidad are suffering. Increased traffic, absence of extra-curricular school programs and the cost of private child care all significantly impact their ability to function at an optimum level. This critical AFETT Symposium addressed the logistical, social and economic issues surrounding the topic and was attended by company executives who had the well-being of their workforce at heart.
