This year’s Meeting theme was ‘HERstory - Bold Steps of an Entrepreneurial Journey Towards Success!’ Members attending the meeting were treated to the stirring and inspiring story of Simone Sant Ghuran, Founder and Managing Director TrinidadWeddings.com – a wedding website in Trinidad and Tobago, which was established in 2004 to provide free resources, advice and information to engaged couples, and marketing support to wedding vendors. Simone is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Trinidad Weddings’ Wed-Zine - an annual wedding magazine, which has been sold nationwide since 2010, and globally via digital download since its 2013 issue.
Members also heard of the entrepreneurial journey of Sherleen Young-Griffith, Managing Director of the catering company, Callelujah Limited - a full-service catering company co-founded with her husband, Caleb Griffith.
It is the custom of AFETT to showcase AFETTpreneurs at each of its meeting and the EGM was no exception with the likes of Upper Crust (sweet and savoury pastries), Callelujah Ltd.(sauces) and Whisk Cakery (bespoke cakes and cupcakes) on show.
AFETT thanks its corporate sponsor – Colfire – for the tokens presented to all guests, along with the hamper, which was presented to Mrs. Misty-Ann Dillon Noray, who correctly answered the question, what is Colfire’s tagline.
Among the members present at the EGM were Ms. Nicolette Johnson, AFETT founding member, and Mrs. Cavelle Joseph-St Omer, Past President of AFETT.
AFETT is a not-for-profit organisation formed in 2002 with the goal of bringing together professional women and engaging in networking opportunities, professional training, and business ideas. The vision of the association is 'To be the leading network for professional women in Trinidad & Tobago'.
