AFETT Invited to the Re-Launch of Citizens' Intervention
AFETT was invited to participate in the Re-Launch of the Citizens’ Intervention on Saturday October 15, 2016, at the CLR James Auditorium, Cipriani College of Labour and Co-Operative Studies, Churchill-Roosevelt Highway, Valsayn. Citizens' Intervention is a group of concerned citizens who wish to have a dialogue on pertinent issues between and among the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, irrespective of race, creed, class, gender, geographical place of birth or residence or party affiliation. AFETT’s Immediate Past President, Cavelle Joseph, attended the re-launch.
The event’s theme, “The 2nd Republic”, and timing of it was in the context of Trinidad and Tobago’s 40th anniversary of its Republican status. Discussion centred on transparency and accountability; collapsed institutions, the concept of the economy, and the need to reimagine our country's future.
Panelists included David Abdullah, Rhoda Bharath, Judy Kublalsingh, Hayden Blades, Rubadiri Victor and Ozzi Warwick.
