AFETT's September 2016 Meeting

AFETT Members Learn About Social Media Strategy

AFETT’s Social Media event on Thursday September 22, turned out to be an excellent platform for everyone to learn more about how social media impacts our lives and businesses and how we can use it to benefit us.

Participants came together at the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago’s (TATT) meeting room at their main office in Barataria. Gisselle Ramsaran, Manager of Marketing, Events and Training, and Chenoa Marquis, Digital Solutions Delivery Lead of Caribbean Ideas - a self-described “Caribbean flavoured digital agency”, presented on SME Social Media Marketing. Ms. Marquis talked about the importance and value of digital marketing for businesses. She noted that digital marketing allows users to easily measure results and compete with larger companies with bigger budgets.

Curtis Seegobin, IT Administrator at TATT, did a lively presentation on “Cyberspace – What you don’t know”, where he discussed many of the opportunities of social media and outlined some of the challenges like questionable information, cyber stalking, password security and more. Cheryl Johnson, Communications Manager at TATT, ended the evening with a presentation on TATT and their programmes and services.

AFETT would like to thank Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago for sponsoring the presentations, for providing refreshments for our guests, and for their excellent venue - including secured parking. We also must express our appreciation to Caribbean Ideas for sponsoring their presentation and providing some free digital tools to all of our participants.
