2010 - REACH Mentorship Programme
AFETT's REACH Mentorship Programme was launched on September 18, 2010, at the Belmont Secondary School. Twenty students from the school were chosen for this pilot project which will be held at the School’s compound. The overall goal of this Mentorship Programme is to ‘Create meaningful change’ in young women by enhancing recognition of self-worthiness and developing the students’ life skills.
One of the components of AFETT’s mission is to provide mentoring opportunities for women. AFETT continues its mission by providing mentoring opportunities when called upon.
2009 - Women of Influence Awards & Mentorship Celebration
AFETT’s annual observance of International Women’s Day is one of our signature events and is a highly anticipated event on the Trinidad and Tobago calendar. Every year, our Women of Influence Awards draws a larger attendance and is deemed by all who attend to be a highly stimulating and rewarding experience. The Categories of the Awards are:

In 2012 AFETT expanded its Mentorship and Development Programme to include an invitation to our Awards Function for girls, ages 13 to 17 years, from secondary schools throughout Trinidad and Tobago. This provided these girls with an opportunity to listen to and meet exemplary female achievers in their various fields of work.
2006 - AFETT Six Steps to Success
A series of professional development seminars for younger professionals (male and female) These seminars targeted women and men in the workforce who may not have all the skills needed to take them up the corporate ladder.
2005 – AFETT Top Five Companies for Female Executives in Trinidad and Tobago - Research Project
We celebrated the top five firms in Trinidad and Tobago that support the development and promotion of women into executive and decision making positions, as well as providing equitable pay, policies to enable work-life balance and mentoring. The Top Five Winners were T & T Unit Trust Company, Scotia Bank, the Myerson Tooth Company, Guardian Life of the Caribbean and College Foods.
2004 - AFETT Career Handbook for Young People
This innovative handbook contained educational, scholarship and career information on more than 100 careers. More than 2500 copies were distributed to schools, libraries and civil society groups across the country, and the rights were eventually purchased by the Ministry of Education for further publication and distribution.
2002 - Suit Me Up
The annual sale of gently used, nearly new professional clothing which has become the major fundraiser for the year and, as is the custom, part proceeds are earmarked for a selected charity, and funds the Association's ongoing outreach programmes like its REACH Mentorship Programme and Six Steps to Success . This event is aligned to our mission to support women entering and re-entering the workplace, as good quality suits and business attire are made available at low prices.
