'Almost Christmas' Movie Premiere Draws Rave Reviews!
AFETT’s Movie Premiere fundraising event turned out to be a great success as eager moviegoers converged at Movietowne on Monday November 14th to enjoy seeing the touching and hilarious movie, “Almost Christmas”.
Many people came out to enjoy the movie and incidentally support a good cause. Part proceeds of their contributions went towards AFETT’s Women & Development Fund. Through this fund, AFETT annually presents two bursaries of $5,000.00 each to two female, second-year students attending the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.
The moviegoers clearly enjoyed the movie about a family coming together for the holidays after the death of their matriarch. The story combined hilarious, familial relationships and a touching look at loss.
In addition, the patrons got a chance to win valuable door prizes before the movie began. Three corporate sponsors donated prizes. Winners received a hamper from Vemco Limited, a gift certificate for dinner from Kapok Hotel, and a certificate for Solé Nail Salon. Other winners of the night included Vicky Belmar, who entered AFETT’s movie premiere competition on Facebook, and won two tickets to attend. In addition, AFETT’s Immediate Past President, Cavelle Joseph, won a prize for selling the most tickets.
It was clearly a night of good times for all who attended.
