Biz Booster Bootcamp Kicks Off!

“Attennnnshun”!

Saturday 21st May 2016 marked the launch of AFETT’S Biz Booster Boot Camp with approximately nineteen entrepreneurs and executives immersed in a 6-hour concentrated session geared at either kick-starting or accelerating growth of their businesses. The campsite was the MIC training facility in Tacarigua.

This initiative was born out of the recognition that many micro and small businesses lack the knowledge, skills and tools to move their operations from the cottage level or having done so, lack the capacity to successfully attain sustainable growth.  It is a result of AFETT’s resolve to do something about this situation that concerns not only its members but SMEs in general.

Ably commanded by the directors of Harcon Consulting Ltd, the one-day intervention armed participants with specific tools and knowledge necessary for navigating the challenging and sometimes unpredictable terrain of the entrepreneurial eco-system. Trainees were drilled on the basic requirements for establishing, growing and sustaining a small business, potential challenges and ways to avoid or mitigate the impact of these challenges. The key areas of concentration were:

  1. Entrepreneurial Behaviour competencies

  2. Legal and Statutory requirements

  3. Strategic and Business Planning

  4. An Innovation Challenge

Participants left with a better understanding of some essential manoeuvres that make the difference between success and failure.

Several Afettpreneur booths fortified the periphery of the camp offering an array of goods and services while bird’s eye coverage was provided by CNC3.

Stay tuned for future camps!
