AFETT Congratulates

Sharon Christoper, Catherine Kumar and Sacha Thompson

AFETT would like to express congratulations to three outstanding women who achieved significant milestones in the past few months.

Congratulations to Sharon Christopher, Deputy Chief Executive, First Citizens Bank, who recently retired. Ms Christopher dedicated over thirty years of her life to the banking sector. She was also instrumental  in merging  National Commercial Bank, Workers Bank and Trinidad Co-operative Bank into the entity now known as First Citizens. She also helped organise the first women’s conference ever held in Trinidad and Tobago.  Ms. Christopher has been a supporter of AFETT in the past, facilitating membership. She has also supported  AFETT’s International Women’s Day event by sponsoring schools so students could attend. Read more about Sharon Christopher here.

 

Congratulations to Catherine Kumar who just stepped down as CEO of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Kumar also served as President and Country Head of RBTT Bank Limited for three years and Inspector of Financial Institutions of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago for six years.  Ms. Kumar is a former member of AFETT and has made donations to our signature to our Suit Me Up event.

Congratulations to Sacha Thompson who has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of Digicel Trinidad and Tobago. Ms. Thompson has worked with Digicel for ten years in roles which included Marketing Manager, Head of Marketing, Marketing Director, Chief Operations Officer and then finally Chief Executive Officer.
