Let's Get Social!
AFETT's July 2017 Meeting - Thursday July 27, 2017
AFETT Members “Get Social” at Uncorked
Members of the Association of Female Executives of Trinidad and Tobago (AFETT) got a sneak peek at the Association’s upcoming year of events at AFETT’s recent networking social. The “Let’s Get Social” event was held at Uncorked Wines and Spirits Ltd. It was a full house as members and potential members of the women’s Association gathered to network with their peers, meet the new Board members, participate in competitions, and hear about AFETT’s plans from its President, Charlene Pedro.
Pedro announced that the next meeting would address the theme of reducing clutter and becoming organised. She also reminded those assembled that AFETT’s signature event, Suit Me Up, is coming up in October. Suit Me Up is one of AFETT’s most popular fundraising events. A sale of gently used, professional attire. Every year, hundreds of shoppers attend to take advantage of bargains and trendy options. Pedro emphasised that members had asked for more social events, and “Let’s Get Social” was a response to that. She explained that upcoming events would reflect other interests expressed by members.
The MC for the evening was media practitioner and entrepreneur, Natacha Jones, who highlighted the importance of supporting members of the “sisterhood”.
The guests were able to sample some Kefir beverages, a new line from Jones’ organic business, Natural Joy, as well as a selection of wines provided by Uncorked. Refreshments were provided by Upper Crust Patisserie. President Pedro took the time to thank Natacha Jones – MC and owner of Natural Joy, and Katrina Phillips - owner of Upper Crust Patisserie. She gave special thanks to the owners of Uncorked, Wendell West and Dion Brathwaite.
