Too Young to Wed - A Public Forum

AFETT Immediate Past President, Cavelle Joseph attended the TOO YOUNG TO WED public forum on behalf of AFETT on Tuesday 11th October 2016, at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus. The forum was convened to discuss the current debate surrounding the Marriage Act of Trinidad and Tobago.


The event was organised by the Institute for Gender and Development Studies (IGDS), in collaboration with the Coalition to End Child Marriage in T&T, in commemoration of International Day of the Girl Child.


The forum Chair was Dr. Gabrielle Hosein, Head of IGDS, St. Augustine Unit, and Folade Mutota, Director of WINAD for Coalition to End Child Marriage in T&T.


Panellists included Brenda Gopeesingh, Hindu Women's Organisation; Dona Da Costa-Martinez, Family Planning Association of T&T, and Khadija Sinanan, WOMANTRA.
