Mrs. Sagewan-Alli is the Executive Director of the Caribbean Competitiveness Foundation and a senior economist with specialization in Clustering and Value Chains for sustainable development. She was formerly the Executive Director of the Caribbean Centre for Competitiveness of the University of the West Indies. She is certified by the European Cluster Foundation in Cluster Management Excellence, by Duke Centre on Globalization, Governance and Competitiveness in Global Value Chain Analysis and case writing and UNU Merit in Innovation Policy. She has provided technical supervision for a number of 

cluster and value chain studies conducted in the region in areas such as; agro-processing, eco-tourism, yachting, cruise tourism, wedding and honeymoon tourism, culinary tourism, sports tourism, solar energy, furniture, shipbuilding, rum, fashion, poultry and cocoa.


Indera holds an MSc. Economics (UWI), BA History (UWI), Post Graduate diplomas in Project Cycle Management (IDB), Privatization and Private Sector Development (University of Bradford, England), and Oil and Gas Management (Boston, USA). She is a U.S.A Certified Adult Trainer with specialization in leadership development, Time and Life Management, Team building and Conflict resolutions, Emotional Intelligence and Effective Presentation. 


Indera has done work for the IDB in Trinidad and Tobago, Belize and Suriname. Indera served in the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, both as an elected representative (MP) and a Senator and on the boards of the National Gas Company of Trinidad & Tobago, the National Energy Corporation, Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited and the Board of Governors of the Trinidad & Tobago Institute of Technology. Indera has worked as advisor to the Minister of Health and Policy Analyst in the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of the Economy and served on the Government appointed ‘Prices Council”.

Ronald Carter is the Chief Executive Officer of JMMB Investments Trinidad and Tobago. His financial services and investment management experience span 20 years across the Caribbean and the United States. He has held several senior positions within a number of top-tier global financial institutions and successfully led businesses in wealth and investment management, capital markets and corporate banking. 

Ronald has significant technical experience in corporate finance and investments and has an outstanding track record in managing large and highly sophisticated investment portfolios. His career has been built through his all-embracing approach to management and focus on service. He is also a successful entrepreneur, having co-founded and built a successful company that delivers specialized information management services to large and medium-sized institutions. Ronald holds a BSc. Honours. - Business Management with a major in Accounting from the University of the West Indies and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the New York University-Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

Dr. Kistow is a Lecturer in the areas of International Business and Accounting and Finance and the Programme Director for the Master of Small and Medium Enterprise Management (MSMEM) at the Lok Jack GSB, UWI. He has previously worked in the financial and regulatory sectors.  He is one the lead faculty at the Lok Jack GSB in the areas of SMEs and family run businesses, competiveness, qualitative research methods

and sustainability and is a Certified Level 2 Cultural Intelligence (CQ) trainer.  He has been in teaching, consulting and research for over 20 years and has also been involved in distance education and e-learning for over 15 years.   Dr. Kistow is an expert in the areas of Strategic Management with over 15 years experience in guiding organization in their strategic planning process, providing training and clinics for SMEs, NGO and corporations both locally and internationally.


He has presented at seminars and international conferences in the areas of SMEs, competitiveness and sustainability. He has published in the areas of Sustainable Development, Finance and Accounting, Small Business Management and Distance Learning and is regular contributor to the leading publications in Trinidad and Tobago.  His current research areas include competitiveness and productivity, family business, sustainability and culture in international business.
