President's Message: Bringing in 2019

Dear Members,

As we bring the curtains down on 2018, as a Board, we wish to say thank you sincerely for your support of our Mentorship Programmes and our Monthly Membership Meetings.

Under the distinguished patronage of Dr. the Honourable Nyan Gadbsy-Dolly, Minister of

AFETT President - Yolande Agard-Simmons

Community Development, Culture and the Arts, and the Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, we were thrilled to host our inaugural Networking Session for graduates of the REACH Mentorship Programme and beyond excited to launch the Youth Arm of AFETT, where we welcomed ten (10) new young ladies to the fold; young ladies who represent the future of AFETT.

We call on each of you to think about why you are a part of this fabulous Association and recommit to #givingback in 2019.

We have a packed schedule of activities for the first quarter of 2019 which includes our Annual International Women’s Day Awards and Mentorship Luncheon.

Having listened to the feedback you provided in September, we will host three Entrepreneurial Toolkits, with a focus on Protocol and Etiquette; Financing and Business Planning; Marketing and Branding; among others.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, we will conduct the first of two sessions of the REACH Mentorship Programme in March 2019 – so send an email to Solange our Social Outreach Director if you are interested in serving as a mentor.

We will also host our Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in March when we introduce to you the Executive Team to lead for the 2019/2020 term.

And that’s just for the first quarter … so join us as we continue to #serve.

#LetsVolunteer

Yours in service,

Yolande Agard-Simmons

President
