On August 29th, AFETT and EXport TT came together for an evening of networking and learning about the fundamentals of exporting. The first in our 'Women in' Series saw AFETT showcasing an expert in the field of export promotion and facilitation. Lisa Ramsumair provided attendees with an information packed presentation on the nuts and bolts required to be a successful exporter; and Camille James outlined the many training and facilitative programmes of exporTT Limited. The goal is to develop a stable and diversified sector in Trinidad and Tobago, she said. AFETT President, Yolande Agard Simmons reminded members and guests that they should include exporting in their business growth strategy as it provides a myriad of opportunities for business expansion and as an Association, AFETT will continue to partner with the Agencies that facilitate the growth of the businesses of our members. Programmes Director Dixie Ann Dickson who chaired the Meeting highlighted some of the common challenges faced by businesses wanting to export which created a buzz of conversation among members on their readiness for this step. ExporTT Limited is the export promotion arm of Government so members were keen to take all the information that was shared by Camille. Look out for other topics of successful women sharing their stories in the field of Health, Law, ICT, Communications, HR, Finance.
