The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (2018)
The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign that takes place each year. It commences on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day. It was originated by activists at the inaugural Women's Global Leadership Institute in 1991 and continues to be coordinated each year by the Center for Women's Global Leadership. It is used as an organizing strategy by individuals and organizations around the world to call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.
In commemorating the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (IDEVAW) 2018, and in support of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, AFETT launched its inaugural 3-part podcast series under the theme "The Colour of Love". AFETT's Director-Research and Public Advocacy, Jeane A. Warner, with Dr. Senator Varma Deyalsingh, hosted the discussion which included the perspectives of ten (10) young persons on Love and Relationships in hopes of understanding how these perceptions cause us to choose and attract the various types of people in our lives. They also examine how these perceptions can potentially lead and influence toxic or potentially toxic relationships and interactions. The Colour of Love is brought to you by SHE CASA Ltd., Sole (Beauty for the Soul), Audio Video Xperts Company; NuTH Lifestyle Limited; Sheldon Mendoza; The Image Architect and Candice Gray.
